Jesse Lingard has been axed from Manchester United’s 22-man core list. He has since been replaced by new arrival Amad Diallo.
The player’s omission from the list adds to the speculation surrounding his future at the club and whether the player is the manager’s plans. During this season, Lingard has featured only thrice for the club, and none of these appearances has been in the EPL.
However, several clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, and Sheffield United, have expressed their interest in the player on a loan basis during the January transfer window. However, Solskjaer has hinted that he will block any move for the player as he considers him part of his plans.
The arrival of new boy Amad Diallo saw Jesse Lingard fall in the pecking order, with the Man United academy product being deemed surplus to needs. Diallo has since replaced Lingard in teh 22-man core squad.
Jesse Lingard, despite a recent dip in form and performance, is a highly-rated versatile attacker. His contract runs until June 2022.
He last featured for the club during their FA Cup clash against Watford on January 9. He has been named on the bench only once in the last EPL matches.
