Bayer Leverkusen has confirmed that they have finalized the signing of Netherlands defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah. The versatile player has completed the switch from Manchester United on a three-year contract.

On Wednesday, the Bundesliga side expressed its delight in capturing the versatile defender. Although Manchester United has not yet officially disclosed the feed agreed between the clubs for the player, Bayer Leverkusen has hinted that they paid around £1.5 million for the highly-rated Netherlands international.

The move puts an end to Fosu-Mensah’s injury-hit Old Trafford career. He made his debut in 2016 and has made a total of 30 appearances in all competitions for the club. He leaves at the age of 23, and still regarded one of the hot prospects in Europe.

In a video posted by Fosu-Mensah, teammates Eric Bailly and Paul Pogba bid the player an emotional goodbye as the player traveled to the club to bid goodbyes to the players he has shared the dressing room with since his arrival from Ajax in 2014.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had earlier on confirmed that Timothy Fosu-Mensah would be leaving the club in search for regular game time. The club thanked the player for his services and wished him good fortunes in his adventure.
